József Torgyán was born on November 16, 1932, and died on January 22, 2017.
He was a Hungarian lawyer and politician, chairman of the Independent Smallholders’ Party (1991-2002), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (1998-2001) in the Government of Viktor Orbán.
József Torgyán married Mária Cseh in 1959, who was an actress in the National Theatre of Pécs.
They had a son, Atilla was an editor.
Torgyán died in Budapest.
József Torgyán passed away at 84 years old.
