Joseph Dergham was born in Ebrine, Lebanon.
He received his priestly ordination on 12 April 1959.
On 5 April 1989 Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the Eparchy of Cairo of the Maronites.
His episcopal ordination was on 16 September 1989, and the main consecrator was the Patriarch of the Maronites of Lebanon, Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir; his co-consecrators were Joseph Merhi and Georges Abi-Saber.
Joseph resigned on September 18, 2005 by limits of age and his renounce was accepted by Pope Benedict XVI.
Joseph passed away at age 85 in October 2015.
