José de Jesús Madera Uribe was born on November 27, 1927, in San Francisco, California, and died on January 21, 2017.

He was an American Roman Catholic bishop.

He served the Archdiocese for the Military Services.

He was ordained a priest for the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit on June 15, 1957.

Uribe was appointed coadjutor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno on December 18, 1979, and was consecrated bishop on March 4, 1980.

Uribe succeeded as bishop of the diocese on June 1, 1980.

On May 28, 1991, Uribe was appointed to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. He retired on September 14, 2004.

Madera Uribe passed away at 89 years old.
