John “Johnny” Brooks was born on December 23, 1931, and died on June 7, 2016.

He was a former professional footballer and manager.

Johnny played for Reading, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Brentford, Crystal Palace in the Football League.

He won three England caps, scoring two goals.

Nearing the end of his career, Johnny Brooks played in non-league football with Stevenage Town and Cambridge City and in North America with Cleveland Stokers.

Later, Johnny player-managed Knebworth.

He had a son, Shaun Brooks, who also had a career in professional football.

Johnny Brooks passed away at 84 yrs old.
