John S. Palmore, American judge, Died at 99

John S. Palmore was born on August 6, 1917 and died on July 4, 2017.

He was a Justice of the Kentucky Court of Appeals from 1959 until it became the Supreme Court of Kentucky in 1975, and on the latter court until his retirement, in 1982.

Palmore served as Chief Justice in 1966, in 1973, and from 1977 to 1982.

When he retired, he became a legal advisor to then-Lieutenant Governor Martha Layne Collins.

After Governor John Y. Brown, Jr. fell critically ill following heart surgery in 1983, Palmore advised Collins to take the role of acting governor.

Then Collins was elected governor, her administration hired Palmore to represent the state in several legal cases.

Whilst in retirement, he started writing history books.

Palmore also published two autobiographies.

He would of been 100 years old one month after his death.

John S. Palmore passed away at 99 years old.
