Wilfred John Newhouse was born on February 6, 1929, and died on December 10, 2016.

He was an American journalist and author.

Newhouse was best known as the author of the book “War and Peace in the Nuclear Age” published in 1989 as companion to a PBS television series.

Newhouse graduated from Duke University in 1950, after which he served two years in the United States Air Force.

Following his discharge, Newhouse took a job as a copy boy for the United Press wire service in New York.

John lived in Paris in the 50s and 60s.

John Newhouse passed away at 87 years old.
