Welsh rugby union John Mantle was born on March 13, 1942, and died on November 19, 2018.

John Mantle was capped for Wales at rugby union, and Great Britain, and Wales in rugby league.

He started his rugby profession at a youthful age, playing for the Wales School group.

As a grown-up, he played with Bargoed before changing to initially class group Newport.

While speaking to Newport, Mantle was chosen for his two Welsh rugby association tops.

His initially was the point at which he was chosen as a feature of the visiting Wales group to Africa. Mantle played in the early diversions of the visit, including prevails upon East Africa in Nairobi, and Boland at Wellington.

Mantle first universal was against South Africa in Durban in 1964, however, Wales were outmaneuvered and lost 24-3 of every an uneven match.

He played in the later recreations on the visit, including matches against Northern Transvaal and Orange Free State.

On his arrival, he played one last amusement in a prevail upon England, at the Cardiff Arms Park as a major aspect of the 1963 Five Nations Championship.

He may have won more tops for Wales, however ‘Went North’, changing to the expert rugby group code when he joined St. Helens in 1964.

He would later play for the Great Britain rugby class group.

He played left-prop, i.e. number 8, in St. Helens’ 2-25 crush by the 1975 NSWRFL season premiers, Eastern Suburbs Roosters in the informal 1976 World Club Challenge at Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday 29 June 1976.

He was a mentor of the Cardiff City Blue Dragons.

John Mantle passed away at 76 years old.
