John Joseph Gibbons

United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit John Joseph Gibbons was born on December 6, 1924, in Newark, New Jersey and died on December 9, 2018.

He grew up in Belleville, New Jersey

At some stage, Judge Gibbons became a partner at the law firm of Gibbons P.C.

During 1942, Gibbons graduated from Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School.

Gibbons entered in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.

In 1947, he graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Harvard Law School in 1950 with a Bachelor of Laws.

Following his graduation, he joined the firm of Crummy & Considine.

Gibbons was named a partner and the firm’s name changed to Crummy, Consodine & Gibbons, after several years with the firm

During 1967, Gibbons became President of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and also a member of the Governor’s Commission on Civil Disorders.

Judge John Joseph Gibbons passed away at 94 years old.
