John Hubbard was born in 1931, in Ridgefield, Connecticut and died on January 6, 2017.

He was an American-born abstract impressionist painter.

John has lived and worked in England for more than 50 years.

Hubbard won the Jerwood Painting Prize in 1996.

Hubbard attended Harvard University, and then did three years of military service in Japan.

From 1956 Hubbard studied at the Art Students League of New York, and also with Hans Hoffman.

Hubbard visited Rome and travelled in Europe.

John married in 1961, and went to live in Dorset.

John Hubbard passed away at 85 years old.
