John Cavell, British Anglican prelate, Died at 100

John Kingsmill Cavell was born on November 4, 1916, and died on May 19, 2017.

He was a British Anglican bishop.

Cavell was the ninth Bishop of Southampton, from 1972-84, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Winchester.

He was educated at Sir Roger Manwood’s School and Queens’ College, Cambridge, whence he gained his Cambridge Master of Arts (MA Cantab).

Cavell was ordained a deacon at Trinity in May 1940 and a priest on 11 June 1941, both times at Canterbury Cathedral by Cosmo Gordon Lang, Archbishop of Canterbury.

Cavell began his career with Curacies at Christ Church, Folkestone and Addington Parish Church, Croydon.

John Cavell passed away at 100 years old.
