John Bradbury, English musician and record producer, Died at 62

John “Brad” Bradbury was born on February 16, 1953 in Coventry, and died on December 28, 2015.

He was an English musician and record producer.

John was popularly known as the drummer in the English ska group The Specials, and co-wrote “The Selecter”, a joint “A” side with “Gangsters”.

Bradbury attended Kingston-upon-Hull Regional College of Art where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, and Aston University where he gained a PGCE.

He play the drums, synthesizer, piano, keyboards, congas, bongos and he was a vocalists.

John joined The Special AKA when the original Specials split in 1981; they had a Top 10 hit with “Free Nelson Mandela”.

John was said to be the main instigator.

Over his years as a footballer, John also headed a band called JB’s Allstars – a soul revue influenced by Bradbury’s enthusiasm for Northern soul – releasing several singles on 2-Tone.

He participated in the The Specials reunion tour in 2009.

John Bradbury passed away at 62 yrs old.
