Johannes Maria Trilaksyanta Pujasumarta was born on December 27, 1949, in Surakarta, Central Java, and died on November 10, 2015.

He was the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Semarang.

Johannes was ordained a priest on June 25, 1977, and he was elected archbishop in the archdiocese on November 12, 2010.

Johannes was the third son of nine children, born of Hubertus Soekarto Pudjasumarto and Agnes Soekarti Pudjasumarto.

He studied to become a priest at the Seminary Mertoyudan, Magelang in 1963.

He graduated from the Seminary Mertoyudan, Romo Puja and continue his priestly education at Seminary St. Paul Kentungan Yogyakarta from 1970 to be ordained as priests dated January 25, 1977.

Johannes study Spiritual Theology at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome, Italy in the Year 1983 to 1987, then Licentiate in Spiritual Theology in the year 1983 to 1985; and his Doctorate in Spiritual Theology in the year 1985 to 1987.

He was appointed vicar-general of the archdiocese in 1998.

Johannes was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Bandung by Pope Benedict XVI on May 17, 2008.

Johannes was ordained by Archbishop of Jakarta, Cardinal Julius Darmaatmadja the ordaining Main in 2008, together with the Archbishop of Semarang, Msgr. Ignatius Suharyo and the Apostolic Nuncio to Indonesia, Mgr. Leopoldo Girelli who acted as Bishop Konsekrator.

He worked a shepherd in Bandung diocese until 2010, on November 12, 2010, Johannes was appointed as Archbishop of Semarang by Pope Benedict the XVI.

Johannes became Bishop of co-ordination, konsekrator the Bishop of Bandung, Mgr. Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, OSC along with the Bishop of Bogor, Msgr. Paschal Bruno Gratitude, OFM.

Johannes passed away at 65 years old on November 10, 2015.
