Joachim Carlos Martini was born on May 4, 1931, and died on November 29, 2015.

He was a Chilean-born German conductor.

Joachim founded the Junge Kantorei and the Frankfurt Baroque Orchestra, both of which are known for their performances of Handel’s works.

Under his direction 20 recordings have been published.

Joachim also founded an archive dealing with music under Nazism.

Joachim passed away at age 84 in November 2015.
