Jim Hasslocher, American businessman, founder of Jim’s Restaurants, Died at 93

Germano Hasslocher, changed his name to Jim Hasslocher, was born on August 25, 1922, in Shreveport, Louisiana and died on November 19, 2015.

He was an American businessman, the founder of the Jim’s Restaurant chain,

Jim worked at his uncle’s bicycle rental stand at the front gate in Brackenridge Park in 1947, where he sold sliced watermelon and then charbroiled burgers.

After which he was able to open the first Frontier Drive-Inn.

The business grew into Frontier Enterprises, Inc.

The small business expanded, which now operates 19 Jim’s Restaurants in San Antonio and Austin, La Fonda Alamo Heights, The Magic Time Machine Restaurants in San Antonio and Dallas, as well as the soon-to-open Frontier Burger, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Jim Hasslocher passed away at 93 due to cancer.
