Jean Corti was born in 1929, in Bergamo, Italy, and died on November 25, 2015.

He was an Italian accordionist and composer.

Jean became popular through cooperation with Jacques Brel, for spending some chansons composed.

Jean first solo album was not released until 2001.

His career has taken him to many places, such as in a military brothel mid-1940s to the accompaniment of the French chansonnier Georges Brassens on bass.

In 1960 Bandol Jacques Brel was said to have hired him as an accompanist.

In the following six years Jean was one of the Brel resistant strain of musicians and has performed with the chansonnier around 300 concerts per year.

Jean composed the music for Les Bourgeois, those to Titine together with Gérard Jouannest and with Brel and Jounnast the Chansons Madeleine, Les Toros and Les vieux.

He opened a night club in Les Mureaux, in one of his last concerts Brel gave before he ended his stage career.

Jean was retired but very much musically active and played or composed for Jo Privat, Armand Lassagne, Barbara, Michel Petrucciani, Alain Bashung and Les Rita Mitsouko.

Jean wrote the music for the Oscar-nominated short film The Old Lady and the Pigeons from 1997.

He released his first solo album, produced by têtes raids in 2001.

Jean Corti passed away at 86 years old.
