Jay Wright Forrester was born on July 14, 1918, and died on November 16, 2016.

He was an American pioneering computer engineer and systems scientist.

Forrester was a professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

He was also known as the founder of system dynamics, which deals with the simulation of interactions between objects in dynamic systems.

He had as his colleague for a time C. Robert Wieser.
