Jaswant Singh Neki, also known as Punjabi, born on August 27, 1925 and died September 11, 2015.

Jaswant was a leading Indian Sikh scholar, significant neo-metaphysical Punjabi language poet and former Director of PGI Chandigarh and Head of the Psychiatry Department at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.

Noted metaphysical poet and scholar of Sikh thought, Dr. Jaswant Singh Neki is a psychiatrist of international repute.

Dr. Jaswant held high academic and administrative positions including Consultant – WHO, Geneva and UNDP S-E Asia.

Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh , he is a former Professor & Head of the Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi.

Recipient of National Sahitya Akademi Award and Shiromani Sahitkar Award, Dr. Jaswant sits on the Advisory Boards of several National and International organisations.

Author of several standard works, he is presently the Chairman of Guru Granth Sahib Research Centre and the Honorary General Secretary of Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan, New Delhi.

Jaswant Singh Neki died at age 90 on September 11, 2015.
