Japanese electrical engineer, Jun-ichi Nishizawa, Died at 92

Jun-ichi Nishizawa was born on September 12, 1926, in Sendai, Japan and died on October 21, 2018.

He was a Japanese engineer and inventor.

Nishizawa was known for his electronic developments since the 1950s, including the PIN diode, static acceptance transistor, and static enlistment thyristor.

Nishizawa was an educator at Sophia University.

Nishizawa was considered the “Father of Japanese Microelectronics”.

Nishizawa earned a B.S. in 1948, and a Doctor of Engineering certificate in 1960, from Tohoku University.

During 1953, Nishizawa joined the Research Institute of Electrical Communication at Tohoku University.

He turned into a teacher there and was designated executive to two research foundations. From 1990 to 1996, he filled in as the President of Tohoku University.

Nishizawa turned into the leader of Iwate Prefectural University in 1998.

Jun-ichi Nishizawa passed away at 92 years old.
