Jane Little/Jane Finley was born in 1929 and died on May 15, 2016.

She was a musician.

She was a double bass player who was a charter member of the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra, a forerunner of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, from age 16 until the day she died at age 87.

Little was a native of Atlanta, Georgia and studied at the University of Georgia.

Confirmed by the Guinness World Records, she holds the world record for longest tenure with an orchestra.

Jane made her debut on February 4, 1945.

She had officially set the record on February 1, 2016.

Prior to that, the record holder was Frances Darger, who played violin for 70 years for the Utah Symphony until his retirement in 2012.

During September 1953, Warren Little became her husband, the principal flutist of the ASO.

They shared a marriage of 41 years until his death in 1994.

Jane Little collapsed on stage while performing There’s No Business Like Show Business on May 15, 2016, and died later during the day.

Little was undergoing treatment for myeloma at the time.

Jane Little passed away at 87 yrs old
