James H. Billington

Leading American academic and author James Hadley Billington was born on June 1, 1929, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and died on November 20, 2018.

Billington showed history at Harvard and Princeton before serving for a long time as CEO of four government social establishments.

Billington filled in as the thirteenth Librarian of Congress in the wake of being selected by President Ronald Reagan in 1987, and his arrangement was endorsed consistently by the U.S. Senate.

Billington resigned as Librarian on September 30, 2015.

He passed on at a doctor’s facility in Washington, D.C. because of difficulties from pneumonia.

James H. Billington passed away at 89 years old.
