Cecil James Gilbert was born on May 5, 1923, and died on July 7, 2016
He was a Scottish television producer and director.
James was the BBC’s Head of Comedy from 1973–77.
Gilbert was most probably best known for his work on The Two Ronnies, Last of the Summer Wine and Open All Hours.
During 2003, he appeared in the documentary special 30 Years of Last of the Summer Wine to discuss his role in helping to create the series.
James Gilbert passed away at 93 years old.
