Indra Bahadur Rai was born on February 3, 1927, and died on March 6, 2018.

He was a Nepali writer and literary critic from Darjeeling, India.

Indra Bahadur Rai did his schooling in Kurseong and Darjeeling.

He graduated from Calcutta University and his post-graduation in English from North Bengal University.

Rai taught at Turnbull High School in Darjeeling for several years.

Rai also worked as a professor of English at St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling.

Indra Bahadur Rai was also the Vice Chairman of Darjeeling Municipality.

He died at 91 years old.
