Sailendu Nath Phukan was born on April 1, 1937, and died on November 11, 2018.

He was an Indian judge and former judges of the Supreme Court of India.

In the wake of passing LL.B. Phukan originally participated in Jorhat District court at that point begun practice in Gauhati High Court in 1962.

Phukan passed Assam Judicial Service in 1963.

In 1970 Phukan joined into the Government of Meghalaya on the nomination and turned into the Law Secretary and Legal Remembrancer in January 1976.

Phukan likewise filled in as low maintenance instructor in Shillong Law College and also the lawful guide of different companies of the State.

He was lifted as Permanent Judge of the Gauhati High Court in 1985.

On 30 September 1994 Phukan was exchanged to Himachal Pradesh High Court as acting Chief Justice.

In 1996 Phukan turned into the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.

Sailendu Nath Phukan joined in the of Supreme Court of India as a Judge on 28 January 1999.

Phukan resigned in 2002 from the judgeship.
