Indian guru Jayendra Saraswathi, Died at 82

Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya was born Subramanyam Mahadeva on 18 July 1935 and died on 28 February 2018.

He was the 69th Shankaracharya Guru and head or pontiff (Pïțhādhipati) of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.

He was nominated by his predecessor, Chandrashekarendra Saraswati Swamigal, as his successor and was given the pontifical title Sri Jayendra Saraswathi on 22 March 1954.

After about 40 years Saraswathi was chosen as a successor, Jayendra Saraswathi succeeded Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi as the 69th Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam in 1994.

At age 82-year old he was admitted to a hospital near Kamakshi Amman Temple in Kanchipuram on the 28 February 2018 during early morning hours due to breathing problems.

After awhile in hospilat he died hospital.

He died at 82 years old.
