Ilir Hoti, Albanian economist and banker, Died at 58

Ilir Hoti was born on May 10, 1957, and died on March 1, 2016.

He was an Albanian economist and banker.

He was governor of the Bank of Albania from May 1992 until September 1993 and from 2012 to January 2015 was Dean of Faculty of Business, Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës.

Ilir Hoti graduated from the Faculty of Economy and Agribusiness, Agricultural University of Tirana, he served as an associate professor.

Ilir was fluent in English and Italian language.

Ilir Hoti has authored various books, including Financial Management (2009), Financial Management (2011), and Risk Management And Insurance Industry (2011).

He was arrested in 1993 together with former Prime Minister Vilson Ahmeti for scandal “Arsidi”, but he was subsequently released by the Court of Tirana.

And was found not guilty by the court on this issue.

Ilir Hoti passed away at 58 yrs old.
