Igor Korobov

Colonel general Igor Valentinovich Korobov was born on August 3, 1956, and died on November 21, 2018.

He was the Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff, Russia’s military insight organization recently known as the GRU.

He was conceived in Vyazma, a town in Russia’s Smolensk Oblast.

In 1977, he graduated with distinction from the Stavropol Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots and Navigators, North Caucasus Military District, as an officer in the Soviet Air Forces.

He filled in as leader of the Strategic Intelligence Directorate (Upravlenie strategicheskoi razvedky).

Igor Korobov was designated by president Vladimir Putin to head the military knowledge directorate (GU) following the sudden passing of Igor Sergun in January 2016.

On December 29, 2016, he was one of the people authorized by the United States Department of the Treasury for “vindictive digital empowered exercises” compromising the national security of the United States.

All things considered, Korobov authoritatively visited the U.S., alongside different Russia′s top security boss, toward the finish of January 2018.

Igor Korobov died on 21 November 2018, “after a long and genuine ailment”, as per sources in the Russian protection service refered to by state-run organizations.
