He is a Scottish former professional football right-half who played for Aberdeen.

Ian Burns played for the Dons from 1957 to 1966.

Ian was born in Aberdeen and made his debut for his hometown club in a 5-1 League Cup victory over Queen of the South at Pittodrie on August 10, 1957.

He moved on to Brechin City in 1966 and played 82 games for them before retiring in 1970.

Ian won many trophies with Aberdeen.

Ian Burns passed away at age 76 in December 2015.
