Henning Voscherau was born on August 13, 1941, in Hamburg, and died on August 23, 2016.
He was a German notary and Social Democratic politician.
Henning was the First Mayor of his home city from 1988 to 1997, serving as President of the Bundesrat in 1990 – 91.
He became First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City Hamburg on June 8, 1988  and held this office until 8 October 8, 1997.
During late 2005/early 2006, Voscherau tried briefly to return to political life in Hamburg, when he announced he would run for Hamburg mayor again.
He was married and had three children.
Henning Voscherau passed away at 75 years old.
