Harrison McIntosh, American ceramic artist, Died at 101

Harrison Edward McIntosh was born on September 11, 1914, and died on January 21, 2016.

He was an American ceramic artist.

Edward was an exponent of the Midcentury Modern style of pottery, featuring simple symmetrical forms.

Harrison pieces has been exhibited in venues in the United States including the Smithsonian and internationally including at the Louvre in Paris.

Mr. Mclntosh was raised in Stockton, before winning a scholarship to the Art Center College in Los Angeles.

Following serving in World War II, Harrison returned to study ceramics at Claremont Graduate School.

He has been living and working in his native California all his life.

He has been married twice: after being widowed in the 1940s, Harrison married secondly fellow artist Marguerite Wildenhain who became his business partner.

They had one daughter, who is Catherine McIntosh.

Harrison McIntosh passed away at 101 years old.
