H.R. Crawford, American real estate developer and politician, Died at 78

H.R. Crawford was born on January 18, 1939, and died on February 10, 2017.
He was a real estate developer and former Democratic politician in Washington, D.C..
Crawford’s family moved to Sheridan-Kalorama, Washington, D.C., when he was three years old.
Then five years later, the family moved to Near Northeast, Washington, D.C.
H.R. Crawford’s father worked for the federal government and also ran the rooming house in which he grew up, and his mother worked as a housekeeper for a wealthy white family.
Crawford has said that being exposed to his mother’s employer’s richer and more cultured lifestyle motivated him to succeed.
He served in the United States Army, and he attended District of Columbia Teachers College and Howard University.
He was president of the real estate firm Crawford Edgewood Managers and chaired the board of directors of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
H.R. Crawford passed away at 78 years old.
