Godfrey Guwa Chidyausiku was born on February 23, 1947 and died on May 3, 2017.

He was a Zimbabwean judge and former politician.

He was most active in politics during Rhodesia’s unilaterally declared independence, being a member of the Rhodesia House of Assembly.

Followin the Zimbabwean independence, Godfrey was elected as a Zimbabwe African National Union (Patriotic Front) member to the Zimbabwe House of Assembly, and served in the government as Attorney-General.

When he was selected as a Judge, he headed the Constitutional Convention in 1999, and was appointed Chief Justice in 2001.

He retired on 31 March 2017 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of Zimbabwe judges that is 70 years.

He then died on May 3, 2017 in South Africa where he was admitted.

Sheila Madzima was his wife from 1948 to 2009.

Godfrey Guwa Chidyausiku passed away at 70 years old.
