Givi Berikashvili was born on May 12, 1933, and died on April 10, 2017.

He was a Georgian film and theatre actor.

Givi was born in the village of Kolagi, now part of the Gurjaani Municipality.

In 1956, he graduated from the Georgian Institute of Theatre.

He has since performed at the Drama Theatre of Rustavi, that of Sukhumi, and finally, at Marjanishvili Theatre in Tbilisi.

Givi Berikashvili’s most notable films include: Londre, Wine Thieves, The Wishing Tree, Data Tutashkhia, Everyone Wants to Love, The Turtledoves of Paradise, and others.

In his many acheivement are the title of People’s Artist of Georgia (1979) and the Shota Rustaveli Prize.

He died due to respiratory failure.

Givi Berikashvili passed away at 83 years old.
