Georges El-Murr was born on October 11, 1930, in Ka’a at Baalbek, Lebanon and died on February 8, 2017.

He was Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Petra and Philadelphia in Amman.

He was ordained as a priest of the Order of St. John S. Ordo Basilianus Baptistae, Soaritarum Melkitarum (religious symbol: BC) on July 27, 1958.

El-Murr was appointed vicar for the District of Irbid in 1968 and moved in 1991 to Newton (USA).

Georges El-Murr passed away at 86 years old.
