Gary Loizzo, Musician, Died at 70

Gary Alexander Loizzo was born on August 16, 1945, and died on January 16, 2016.

He was an American guitarist, singer, recording engineer, and record producer.

Gary is best known for being the lead singer with The American Breed.

Gary Loizzo was the lead singer of The American Breed, formed in the mid 60’s.

The band had several hit records including the million dollar single “Bend Me, Shape Me” in ’68.

At that time they had two other top 20 Billboard singles “Green Light” and “Step out of your Mind” and other top 100 hits.

Loizzo moved on to own his own recording studio called ‘Pumpkin Studios’ in the early 70’s and become a two-time Grammy-nominated recording engineer.

Gary has worked with REO Speedwagon, Styx, Bad Company, Slash, Survivor, Liza Minnelli, Tenacious D, Nelson, and many others.

He has also been the lead recording engineer for albums that have sold over 25 million copies worldwide.

Gary Loizzo passed away at 70 yrs old due to pancreatic cancer on January 16, 2016,
