G A Vadivelu, Indian independence activist and politician, Died at 92

G A Vadivelu was born on June 12, 1925, and died on January 13, 2016.

He was a freedom fighter and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, Jayaprakash Narayan, Rajaji and Kamaraj.

He studied in Dharmapuri High School, he stop his studies for taking part in the national freedom struggle.

G A Vadivelu joined the congress in his age of 15 and took part in 1940 Individual Satyagraha and 1942 Quit India Movement and was imprisoned in the Palayamkottai Jail.

Despite India been freed in 1947, Pondicherry territory was not freed.

He went to Pondicherry and took part in freedom struggle.

During his time in Pondicherry, he ran a journal, Samudayam.

Following Jayaprakash Narayan formed a separate group in congress to serve the down-trodden vigorously, he joined Jayaprakash Narayan and have become an active member of his socialist group.

G A Vadivelu addressed a speech on Independence Day in Sri Vijay Vidyashram.

Then he fell ill.

G A Vadivelu passed away at 92 yrs old in a private hospital at Salem, Tamilnadu after a brief illness.
