Franciszek Walicki, born on July 20, 1921, and died October 3, 2015, Franciszek was a Polish journalist.

He was considered the father of Polish big beat and rock.

In 1956 he and Leopold Tyrmand organized the first Jazz Festival in Sopot.

Franciszek also founded a number of important Polish bands:
