Felix Browder, American mathematician, Died at 89

Felix E. Browder was born on July 31, 1927, in Moscow and died on December 10, 2016.

He was an American mathematician.

His parents were Earl Browder and Raissa Berkmann.

Browder was a child prodigy who entered MIT at age 17 in 1944 and graduated in 1946 with his first degree in mathematics.

While he attended MIT he achieved the rank of a Putnam Fellow in the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition.

During 1948 (at age 20), Browder received his doctorate from Princeton University.

He was the father of Bill Browder, CEO of Hermitage Capital Management, and Thomas Browder, a physicist specializing in the experimental study of subatomic particles.

Felix Browder passed away at 89 years old.
