Estelle Balet, Swiss snowboarder, Died at 21

Estelle Balet was born on December 19, 1994 , and died on April 19, 2016.

She was a Swiss freeride snowboarder .

She was also a two-time world champion in 2015 and 2016 at the Freeride World Tour.

Estelle started skiing early in her childhood.

When she was ten she transitioned from skiing to snowboarding.

She became the youngest ever Freeride World Tour champion when she won the women’s snowboarding event.

She won the same event in 2016.

Estelle Balet was filming a snowboard-themed movie on Le Portalet in southwestern Switzerland.

Although swift action was taken by emergency services and attendance from Air Glaciers, she died of her injuries.
She died in an avalanche while snowboarding in Orsières, on April 19, 2016.

Estelle Balet passed away at 21 yrs old.
