Elmo Braz Soares was Born on May 25, 1943 in the city of Forest Zone, and died on October 25, 2015 in a helicopter crash.

Elmo was a state deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG) for seven legislatures, as well as constituent state representative.

He resigned in May 2000 when he was elected councilor of the TCE-MG and later (2007-2008), he was chairman of the board.

In the Assembly, he was Security Commission and vice-president 1979-1981.

Elmo Braz Smith died at age 72 in October 2015.
