Elli Norkett, Welsh rugby player, Died at 20

Elli Norkett was born on May 30, 1996, in Ribchester, Lancashire, England, and died on February 25, 2017.

She was a Welsh rugby union player.

Norkett played for Swansea Ladies/Ospreys and the Wales women’s national rugby union team.

Norkett was the youngest player at the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup, having made her debut earlier that year in the Six Nations Championship.

She studied at Cardiff Metropolitan University for bachelor’s degree in sports development.

At the University, she played for the University’s teams which competed in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) women’s rugby competitions.

Norkett resided in Llandarcy, Neath.

Before she enrolling at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Elli attended Neath Port Talbot College where she was named sportswoman of the year, as well as player of the year for both rugby and netball.

Elli died as a result of a car crash in her Toyota Yaris on the A4109 road.

Elli Norkett passed away at 20 years old.
