Elisabeta Polihroniade was born April 24, 1935, in Bucharest and died on January 23, 2016.

She was a Romanian chess Woman Grandmaster (1982) and an International Arbiter.

She won the Romanian Women’s Championship in 1966, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1976 and 1977.

Elisabeta played for Romania in the Women’s Chess Olympiads since 1966 (10 times).

In April 2009, FIDE Elo listed her rating is 2195.

Miss Polihroniade was a journalist and broadcaster, with her own daily radio programme on contemporary culture.

Elisabeta Polihroniade passed away at 80 yrs old.
