Egon Matijevic was born on April 27, 1922, and died on July 20, 2016.

He was an American chemist.

Egon Matijevic earned his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Zagreb.

Following his specialization at the University of Cambridge, Egon went on to work at the Clarkson University. He is the author of more than 550 scientific papers in colloidal and surface chemistry with numerous applications in medicine and industry.

He was a prominent member of American Chemical Society, American Association for Crystal Growth, the World Academy of Ceramics, thwe International Association of Colloid and the Interface Scientists and honorary member of American Ceramic Society, German Colloid Society, Chemical Society of Japan and the Materials Research Society of Japan.

Egon Matijevic passed away at 94 years old.
