Edward Joseph McManus was born on February 9, 1920, and died on March 20, 2017.
He served as the 36th Lieutenant Governor of Iowa and served as a United States federal judge for over 50 years.
Edward received a B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1940 and a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1942.
McManus was a U.S. Naval Reserve Lieutenant from 1942 to 1946.
McManus was in private practice in Keokuk from 1946 to 1962, serving as Keokuk City Attorney for the first nine of those years.
