Eduardo Portella was born on October 8, 1932, in Salvador, Bahia, and died on May 2, 2017, in Rio de Janeiro.
He was a Brazilian essayist, author, and Professor Emeritus.
He worked at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
Portella authored thirty books[citation needed] and was President of UNESCO’s general conference.
He died of complications from pneumonia.
Eduardo Portella passed away at 84 years old.
