Edda Heiðrún Backman was born on November 27, 1957, and died on October 1, 2016.
She was an Icelandic actress, voice actress, singer, painter and director.
Edda was involved in many theatre productions in Iceland, as well as Icelandic films.
During 2004 she quit acting and started directing after getting diagnosed with MND.
Heiðrún Backman retired from the theatre in 2006.
During 2007 she opened the flower shop Súkkulaði og rósir (eng: Chocolates and roses) where she wanted to sell the finest chocolates and the most beautiful roses.
Heiðrún Backman had two children, who was Arnmundur Ernst, an actor and Unnur Birna, a high school student at the time of her mother’s passing.
She died from MND at Landsspítalinn in Reykjavík.
Edda Heiðrún Backman passed away at 58 years old.
