E.L. Boteler, American politician, Died at 96

Edgar Lee “E.L.” Boteler, Jr. was born on February 6, 1920, in Grenada, Mississippi and died on March 17, 2016.

He was an American farmer and politician.

He was previously a farmer at Riverside Farms.

Edgar served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1956 to 1972.

Boteler was then appointed the director of the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

At one point, he was convicted of embezzling public money.

During 1980, he was paroled from prison and, in 1983, his civil rights were restored.

E.L. Boteler passed away at 96 yrs old in Leland, Mississippi.
