Dick Yoder, American academic and politician, Died at 79


Richard “Dick” Yoder was born in West Chester and died on April 28, 2016.
He was an American politician and educator.
Dick Yoder was a Republican member.
He was appointed Mayor of West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Yoder was a student West Chester East High School and soon after his graduation, he attended Villanova University.
Dick also served in the Marine Corps for 6years.
When he received his degree, Yoder began his teaching career at West Chester University.
As a teaching, Dick also coached and served as an athletic administrator.
In 2000, Dick Yoder retired from teaching .
However, during 2001 Yoder ran for mayor and was also re-elected in 2005.
When he had reached the office’s eight-year term limit, Dick Yoder left office and was succeeded by incumbent Mayor Carolyn Comitta in January 2010.
Dick Yoder passed away at 79 yrs old.
