Desh Bandhu Gupta was born on February 8, 1938, in Rajgarh, Alwar, Rajasthan and died on June 26, 2017.

He was an Indian billionaire businessman, the founder and chairman of Lupin Limited, a multinational pharmaceutical company.

He started his career as an associate professor at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Rajasthan.

Gupta quit teaching and decided to be an entrepreneur as he was “not able to implement ideas into practice”.

Desh Bandhu Gupta passed away at 79 years old.
