Deddie Davies (birth name Gillian Davies) was born on March 2, 1938, and died on December 21, 2016.

She was a Welsh character actress.

She was born in Bridgend, Wales.

Davies trained at RADA and is most familiar to television viewers for comedy roles in a host of series, including The Rag Trade, That’s My Boy and Chance in a Million.

Davies usually appeared in meek, spinsterish roles.

Davies also appeared in non-comedic roles in series such as The Bill, Upstairs, Downstairs and Grange Hill.

Davies’ film roles include that of Perks’ spirited wife, Nell, in The Railway Children (1970) and The Amazing Mr Blunden (1972).

In May 2007, Debbie had an unexpected musical success as a member of superannuated pop group The Zimmers.

The groups cover version of “My Generation” highlighted the plight of the elderly, and reached number 26 in the UK Singles Chart.

Since 2012, she appeared as Marj Brennig in the British TV series Stella.

Deddie Davies passed away at 78 years old.
