David Snellgrove, British Tibetologist, Died at 95

David Llewellyn Snellgrove was born June 29, 1920, and died on March 25, 2016.

He was a British Tibetologist.

David was noted for his pioneering work on Buddhism in Tibet as well as his many travelogues.

Snellgrove went on to study German and French at Southampton University.

During 1941, David was called up to do his military service as a member of the Royal Engineers.

David Snellgrove attended the Officers Cadet Training Unit in Scottish seaside town of Dunbar, and was commissioned as an infantry officer.

Then, Snellgrove attended various intelligence courses and further training at the War Office in London, from where he requested a posting to India.

David Snellgrove passed away at 95 yrs old.
